Some of Google's board members will be receiving an annual cash payments from the company, providing a regular compensation for directors with fully vested equity grants, the company announced Friday.

“Our directors who are fully vested are functionally not being compensated,' Google spokeswoman Jane Penner told Reuters. 'In order to continue providing them appropriate compensation, we've put in place a traditional compensation structure similar to that used by many of our peers.”
