UConn Football Player Seriously Injured in Traffic Collision

A former player for the University of Connecticut was airlifted to a Pennsylvania hospital following a head-on collision in Tamaqua.

Police say that Phillip “Mike” Ryan, a former Husky, was driving northbound on Route 309 when he crossed a double yellow line to make a left turn. According to authorities, Ryan was traveling at a high rate of speed and got into the opposite lane too soon. His vehicle collided head-on with a southbound vehicle.

Ryan, one of his passengers and the driver of the other vehicle had to be extricated from their vehicles. All of the injured had to be airlifted to a local hospital where they are in serious condition.

Police are going to charge Ryan for the accident but have yet to determine what those charges will be.

Excessive speed plays a major role in many traffic accidents. While some are not injured in accidents there are many that end in death or debilitating injuries. Medical care along with emergency services can become very costly. When a person has been injured by the careless actions of another, they don’t feel like they should have to pay the bills so they often turn to a Pennsylvania accident attorney to seek compensation.

Though the money obtained by an accident attorney cannot relieve a person’s grief or make help them recover, it can relieve the stress they feel when faced with exorbitant medical bills.

Contacting a Pennsylvania accident attorney as soon as possible will assure you will get a settlement you deserve for your personal injuries.
