Now that Britney Spears has settled into her gig on The X Factor, the pop star is opening up about what it is like to judge auditions. Speaking to FOX411 after auditions in Oakland this week, Spears insisted she is fair and not too tough on contestants.
“I’m a fair judge. Sometimes it is hard because I know what they’ve been through, and been so young. It’s such a subtle and delicate situation when they’re that young. So you just have to use constructive criticism and be there for them and show them support,” Spears told FOX411.
The 30-year-old said Simon Cowell is the hardest of the judges to please. “I don’t think I’m the toughest judge at all. I definitely think Simon would have to be the toughest judge,” she added. “But I’m just looking for something that shows spark and spunk and someone that is meant to do what they are doing.”
Spears and Cowell are joined at the judges table by Disney star Demi Lovato and record producer L.A. Reid.
