DUI Driver Slams into Party Bus, Injuring 19 People

Nineteen people were injured after a drunken driver sideswiped a party bus in his SUV on the Eisenhower Expressway. The SUV driver has now been charged with DUI.

The party bus, which is equipped with flat screen TV, audio equipment and even a dance floor, was loaded with at least 35 people who were drinking and dancing, when the SUV hit it on the left side.

One of the uninjured passengers, Andrea Boyd recalled the accident, “We were just riding, having a party for someone who died in the family,” when the SUV, “hit us from behind. And everybody on the bus was tumbling and flipping over each other.”

In total 15 people on the bus were injured, some with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The SUV driver, Andy Terrell, 28, and his three passengers also sustained injuries. Terrell was charged with DUI, improper lane change, speeding along with other traffic violations.
