In an exclusive interview with Sissy Rich, he shared with us
his passion for his music through a little Q&A.
Q- If you would Sissy, please take a minute and introduce
yourself to those who are unfamiliar with your movement.
Sissy- I’m known in
the hip-hop industry as Sissy Rich; originally from Miami, Florida currently
holding the title as the first gay rapper with dreams of becoming a main stream
artist here in the United States as well as being Internationally known.
Q- Before we dive fully into your music, would you please describe
briefly some of your history, and it is passion about what inspired you?
Sissy- Actually, I
have always had this passion from as far back as I can remember. I am an avid writer of songs, poetry and
short stories.
Q- What was the hip-hop scene like for you growing up where you
are from?
Sissy-I grew up in the
era of Tupic, Biggie Small, Heavy D and other influential rappers. Their music had messages of events and
activities that affected me personally as well as how I was growing up in the
streets. There was various obstacles and
deterrents I was faced with because, of my struggle with my sexuality, but when
I can to term with my identity, I was able to convert my thought into a message
that I conveyed into rapping.
Q- What do you think makes you unique as an artist and
different from other rappers out now?
Sissy-I love me and
not the idea of being a successful rapper.
Don’t get me wrong, God has given me a talent and I’m highly
appreciative; but if this endeavor doesn’t works out; I’m still happy with my
life.
Q- What is currently in the works for you?
Sissy- I have several projects
on the table rite now; until the ink is dry, I can say much, you know how that
goes.
Q- What producers have you worked with? Whom would you like to work with in the future?
Sissy- I’m just
getting into this industry and haven’t had the pleasure of being introduced or
signed with anyone as of yet. I am a fan of Sonny Digital’s work; he defiantly
is an up in comer in the industry. Lil’
Kim would be one of my top picks.
Q- Anything you’d like to add before we wrap it up?
Sissy- Most definitely,
I am so excited of how everyone has listened to my music and has given me his
or her honest feedback. You cannot ask
for anything more than that!
Sissy Rich will be kicking off his summer 2012 tour in over
28 cities. Which defiantly sounds like it will be the show to catch this
summer.
