Jason Campbell hit Chris Cooley for a 66-yard touchdown in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter to lift the Washington Redskins (4-7) past the Carolina Panthers (6-5) 17-13. Carolina had taken the lead in the fourth quarter on a Jake Delhomme touchdown pass to Steve Smith before Cambell was able to find Cooley. Ladell Betts finished with 104 yards on the ground for the Redskins while Cambell threw for two touchdowns and 118 passing yards. Delhomme was picked off twice in the loss.

The Baltimore Ravens (9-2) sacked Ben Roethlisberger nine times en route to a 27-0 shutout against the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-7).  The Ravens defense forced three Steelers turnovers and allowed just 172 yards of offense, 21 of those yards rushing. Steve McNair passed for 140 yards and a touchdown while Jamaal Lewis rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown.

Chad Pennington passed for 286 yards and a touchdown as the New York Jets (6-5) beat the Houston Texans (3-8) 26-11. Laveranues Coles had 111 yards receiving and a touchdown while Jerricho Cotchery had 110 yards receiving for the Jets. It was an aerial assault for both teams as Leon Washington of the Jets led both teams with just 17 yards rushing. David Carr threw for 321 yards and a touchdown in a losing effort for the Texans

Chester Taylor rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown as the Minnesota Vikings (5-6) held on to beat the Arizona Cardinals (2-9) 31-26. Brad Johnson passed for 271 yards and three touchdowns as the Vikings racked up 412 yards of total offense. Matt Leinart passed for 405 yards and a touchdown for the Cardinals but Arizona turned the ball over five times in the loss.

Marc Bulger hit Kevin Curtis on a 5-yard touchdown pass with :27 seconds remaining to lift the St. Louis Rams (5-6) over the San Francisco 49ers (5-6) 20-17. Stephen Jackson rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown for the Rams and Bulger finished with 201 yards passing in the come form behind win. Frank Gore rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown in the 49ers loss.

The Cincinnati Bengals (6-5) climbed back into the playoff race after beating the Cleveland Browns (3-8) 30-0. Carson Palmer threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns and Chad Johnson had 123 yards receiving for the Bengals. Chris Henry had two touchdown receptions for the Bengals in the rout. Charlie Frye had an awful day for the Browns throwing four interceptions.

The New Orleans Saints (7-4) took over sole possession of first in the NFC South after sending the Atlanta Falcons (5-6) to their fourth straight loss 31-13. Drew Breese threw for 349 yards and two touchdowns for the Saints and Deuce McAllister had two rushing touchdowns to lead the Saints. Michael Vick completed just 9 of 24 passes for 84 yards but rushed for 166 yards in the loss.

Rian Lindell kicked a 42-yard field goal with no time left to lift the Buffalo Bills (5-6) over the Jacksonville Jaguars (6-5) 27-24. J.P. Losman completed 21 of 29 passes for 169 yards and Willis Mcgahee rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns in the Bills win. Roscoe Parrish returned a punt 82-yards for Buffalo’s third touchdown. Fred Taylor led Jacksonville with 101 yards rushing. 

LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass as the San Diego Chargers (9-2) continued to roll beating the Oakland Raiders (2-9) 21-14. The Chargers wee down 14-7 entering the fourth quarter but were able to come back and win after Tomlinson threw a 19 yard touchdown pass to Antonio Gates and then rushed for a 10 yard touchdown with less than four minutes remaining on the game.

Vince Young passed for 249 yards and two touchdowns as the Tennessee Titans (4-7) scored 24 fourth quarter points to shock the New York Giants (6-5) 24-21. The Giants had built a 21-0 at halftime but couldn’t dent the scoreboard in the second half. Vince Young also added a rushing touchdown to his total. Eli Manning finished with 143 yards and a touchdown but was picked off twice.

Tom Brady passed for 269 yards and a touchdown as the New England Patriots (8-3) handed the Chicago Bears (9-2) their second loss of the season 17-13. Once again it was the Bears quarterback, Rex Grossman, who became the subject of criticism for Chicago fans. Grossman threw three interceptions on the day. Thomas Jones had a solid day rushing for the Bears picking up 99 yards.
