BCS Rankings: College Football BCS Standings Nov. 26
The road to Glendale, Arizona has been cleared for the USC Trojans. With the new BCS Rankings released, USC jumped one spot to take the coveted number two spot and now controls their own destiny. A win next week against in-state rival UCLA will put the Trojans back in the National Championship game against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The Trojans’ convincing win over #6 Notre Dame earned them enough points to leapfrog Michigan and put them in line for another BCS Championship.
Michigan slipped to number three in the BCS, matching their ranking in the AP poll and now have to hope for a UCLA win next week for them to gain the invitation to the January 8 BCS Championship game.
Florida remained in the number four spot after sneaking by FSU on Saturday. Florida had been hoping for a convincing win against the Seminoles and then a big win over Arkansas in the SEC Championship to bolster their bid for a BCS Championship shot. Arkansas’ loss on Saturday hurt the Gators chances of adding a quality win to their resume.
LSU knocked off the Razorbacks from Arkansas and were rewarded by the BCS. They jumped five spots in the BCS Rankings to the number five spot and have virtually assured themselves of a BCS Bowl birth.
Louisville moved up three spots to number six after blowing out Pittsburgh on Saturday. The Cardinals still have a shot at the Big East title if Rutgers losses next week, regardless Louisville should earn a BCS Bowl invitation for their one loss season.
