Patrick Kane Arrested for Assault and Robbery

Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane was arrested Sunday for assaulting and robbing a cab driver in Buffalo, New York. Kane, 20, and his cousin, 21-year-old James Kane, were charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal mischief and theft of services.

The pair allegedly paid the driver $15 for a $13.80 fare and were angered when he didn’t have the right change. The hockey star and his cousin allegedly assaulted the driver and took money from him. The driver, who has not been identified, suffered head injuries.

 Kane reportedly entered a not guilty plea through his attorney Sunday morning. He has not commented on the reports.

The Blackhawks released a statement saying they “stand behind” Kane. “We are aware of the allegations toward Patrick Kane. He is a big part of our organization and a team leader and we stand behind him,” the statement said.
