Dr. Adrian Blotner Leads Stress Management for Chronic Pain Program at La Paloma Treatment Center

New medical director’s Stress Management for Chronic Pain program brings relief for chronic pain sufferers battling prescription dependence or abuse.

Dr. Adrian Blotner’s position as medical director of the La Paloma Stress Management for Chronic Pain program is a specialized Intensive Outpatient Program that helps those who suffer from chronic pain to improve their functioning in important life roles, cope more effectively with stress and reduce the impact of stress on the mind and body.

A graduate of Louisiana State University and Harvard Medical Schools, Dr. Blotner is board certified in pain medicine as well as psychiatry, and he is a nationally recognized expert in the management of chronic pain disorders with associated sleep, anxiety and mood disorders. He is also recognized as an expert in the safe and effective prescription of narcotic pain medications.

Emphasizing education about physical and biological stress management and lifestyle adjustment techniques, this new program helps individuals to design a lifestyle and treatment plan that serves their individual needs. This results in reduced pain, improved physical functioning and improved ability to perform those life roles that are important to the patient: as a parent, spouse, friend, family member, member of the community and/or financial provider.

The Stress Management for Chronic Pain program is part of La Paloma Treatment Center’s Intensive Outpatient Program, a comprehensive program that specializes in co-occurring disorders. La Paloma provides integrated treatment to those suffering from addiction and mental health conditions, addressing the complex needs of each individual.
