San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker has filed a $20 million lawsuit against New York nightclub W.I.P. after sustaining a “corneal laceration of the left eye and other injuries” in the June 14th brawl between rappers Chris Brown and Drake. In the lawsuit, which was filed in Manhattan Supreme Court this week, Parker says security was “reckless, careless and negligent in permitting Drake's entourage and Brown's entourage to be in the club at the same time despite known tension between the two.”
Parker’s cornea was apparently scratched when he caught in the middle of the brawl and someone hit him with a bottle. Club bosses have not commented.
New York City police sources previously said the fight started after Drake refused to accept a bottle of champagne that Brown sent to his table. Drake returned the bottle to Brown along with a note saying he was “still f----g” Rihanna, Brown’s former girlfriend. Angry words soon turned to punches and the rappers’ respective entourages got involved. By the time the fight was over, broken glass and overturned tables littered the floor. Brown and Drake had already left the club when police officers arrived. No one has been arrested.
