Tony Stewart Takes NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at Watkins Glen International

Tony Stewart continued his dominance at Watkins Glen International, capturing his fifth Cup victory on the course and his sixth straight top two finish on the track after taking the checkered flag at the NASCAR Sprint Cup race on Monday.

The Sprint Cup race had actually been scheduled for Sunday but a series of thunderstorms forced organizers to push the NASCAR event on Monday and Stewart didn’t appear to be rattled one bit as he held off Marcos Ambrose for the win. For Ambrose, the second place finish as his best in NASCAR racing.

Stewart was able to seize the lead following a restart on lap 67, passing Kyle Busch who eventually finished fourth, behind Stewart, Ambrose and Carl Edwards.
