Tropical Storm Debby Could Impact July Natural Gas NYMEX Expiration

The July 2012 natural gas NYMEX contract expires on Wednesday, June 27, which is about when Debby will be approaching land.

Tropical Storm Debby is virtually motionless in the Northern Gulf of Mexico.  The storm's current path is projected to be eastward across Florida.  Parts of Tampa Bay have already reported over ten inches of rain.  Plus, Debby has brought damaging winds and tornadoes to other cities along the west coast of Florida.

The July 2012 natural gas NYMEX contract will expire on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.  Above-normal temperatures are already expected to provide support to natural gas prices.  Tropical Storm Debby only adds to that price support and potential upward price momentum.

The formation of Tropical Storm Debby and the timing of the July 2012 natural gas NYMEX expiration resulted in the issuance of a Storm Alert by Energy Solutions, Inc.  Storm Alerts are an information component of The Advisor, a monthly and weekly natural gas publication.  To access this Storm Alert, consider a 60-day FREE trial to The Advisor or visit www.energysolutionsinc.com for more information.
