Seven Car Pile-up in Pennsylvania Causes One Fatality

A tractor- trailer traveling at a high rate of speed on I-81 set of a chain reaction accident involving in several cars and causing one fatality.

Police said that a tractor-trailer was speeding in the northbound lanes of I-81 Sunday afternoon when he approached a vehicle that had slowed down.

The driver in the front vehicle realized the semi was not going to be able to avoid collision and swerved into the median, setting off a chain reaction accident. The semi still hit the rear of the front vehicle, causing it to spin out and overturn.

While still traveling on its side, the semi struck several other vehicles and sent debris flying across the highway.

The semi driver, who has not been identified, was not wearing his safety belt and was ejected from the cab of his truck. Unfortunately, he died as a result of his injuries.

Two other people were also injured but they were not life–threatening.
