NFL Scores: Monday Night Football Seahawks 34, Packers 24
Shaun Alexander became the fourth running back to rush for over 200 yards in a Monday night contest and the Seattle Seahawks (7-4) scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to beat Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers (4-6) 34-24.
Alexander totaled 201 yards on 40 carries and the Seahawks controlled the time of possession with a twelve minute advantage over the Packers.
In his return to the starting lineup Matt Hasselbeck threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns but was also picked off three times.
The Seahawks trailed 14-12 going into halftime, with all of their oints coming off the foot of Josh Brown. The Packers two touchdowns came from an Ahman Green 5-yard burst and Abdul Hodge’s 29-yard fumble recovery.
Green Bay struck quick in the second half when Brett Favre hit Donald Driver on a 48-yard touchdown pass to push their lead to 21-12.
Matt Hasselbeck began to find his rhythm in the third quarter and found D.J. Hackett on a 23-yard touchdown pass to cut their deficit to 21-19. Hasselbeck then threw another touchdown pass, this time to Darrell Jackson and the Seahawks had their first lead. With a two point conversion Seattle built a 27-21 advantage.
The Packers wee able to cut it to three after a 34-yard field goal from Dave Rayner but Hasselbeck answered for the third time with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jerramy Stevens and seal the win 34-24.
Brett Favre threw for 266 yards and a touchdown but, like Hasselbeck, he was intercepted three times.
