Former Falcon, Jamal Anderson, Arrested for DUI in Georgia

Former running back for the Atlanta Falcons, Jamal Anderson, was arrested early Sunday morning for suspicion of DUI, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Since his retirement from the team in 2001, Anderson has had numerous scrapes with the law, including charges of cocaine and marijuana possession, which were later dropped. Anderson also got into trouble with the IRS owing them close to $1 million in back taxes.

In his latest run in with the law, Anderson was arrested for DUI, when police pulled him over for impeding traffic around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Apparently, the footballer was driving very slowly and police believed he was intoxicated. He was arrested and booked into a Dekalb County jail.

Anderson was a fan favorite in the 90s and help lead the Falcons into their first and only appearance at the Super Bowl.

Anderson now joins the ranks of former and current NFL players who have been charged with DUI. A full report has not been made available

Once a person has been charged with DUI, they should be proactive by hiring a DUI attorney to challenge the charges and begin working on a defense strategy.

A DUI conviction carries some pretty tough penalties which include incarceration and a suspended license. When an offender is represented by a DUI lawyer they have the chance of preventing a conviction or negotiating with prosecutors for a lesser charge. A savvy DUI attorney makes it possible for offenders to evade the worst penalties associated with intoxicated driving.
