Ohio State Buckeyes Linebacker Tyler Moeller to Miss Season Due to Head Injury

Ohio State Buckeyes junior linebacker Tyler Moeller will miss the 2009 college football season due to a head injury he suffered while vacationing with his family.

According to head coach Jim Tressel the initial fear was that Moeller may never play football again but on Tuesday he calmed those fears saying the 6-foot, 216-pounder would rejoin the team sometime in the future.

Reports have indicated that Moeller had been with his family at a bar/restaurant in Florida when he was punched, fell to the floor and hit his head. Moeller did not go to the hospital for any injury but last week he suffered an apparent seizure and was admitted to OSU Medical Center.

Moeller was released from the hospital on Monday and returned to his hometown in Cincinnati where he is recovering.

Moeller had been slated to replace All-Big Ten selection Marcus Freeman on the Buckeyes’ defensive line.
