Elle Macpherson and H&M Leave Fashion Star

Season two of Fashion Star is in for some big changes – Elle Macpherson will not return as host and producers are considering not replacing her. Although the supermodel will not appear on the show, she will continue to work behind the scenes as an executive producer.

"I have been involved with Fashion Star from the beginning, and am very proud to see it come to life, not only in America but globally," Macpherson tells the New York Post's Page Six. "The show is in great hands, and although I will not be hosting this season, I will still be very involved [and] will be reviewing the format for the upcoming season."

Another change for the upcoming season is the departure of H&M. The clothing retailer bid alongside Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue for contestant’s clothing collections on each episode. H&M confirmed their departure in a statement saying they are “continuously looking for new and unique collaborations and we were thrilled to have partnered with NBC for the first season of Fashion Star. We have decided not to participate in the second season. It was exciting to work with all of the talented people involved including the designers whose winning clothes sold out weekly. We wish Fashion Star success and will be sure to tune in for season two.”

One thing that won’t change on season 2 is the celebrity mentors. Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson and John Varvatos will return.
