NHL Scores from Tuesday, November 28

Bobby Holik, Cristobal Huet, Alexander Ovechkin, and Ryan Getzlaf lead their teams to victories in NHL action from Tuesday night.

The Ottawa Senators (12-12-1) fell behind 1-0 early in the first period and then ran off four unanswered goals to beat the Carolina Hurricanes (13-10-3) 4-1. Martin Gerber stopped 29 shots for the Senators while Mike Fisher had a goal and an assist in the win.
 
Bobby Holik scored the game winner for Atlanta (15-7-4) three minutes into overtime as the Thrashers beat the NY Rangers (13-9-3) 5-4 in New York. Marian Hossa scored his 17th goal of the season and added three assists for Atlanta. Adam Hall had two goals for the Rangers.
 
Colby Armstrong scored two goals and Sidney Crosby added two assists as the Pittsburgh Penguins (11-8-4) got by the NY Islanders (12-8-3) 3-2. Chris Thorburn scored the deciding goal for the Penguins in the opening minute of the third period.
 
Alex Auld recorded his second career shutout and still lost. The goaltender for the Florida Panthers (8-13-5) stopped 39 shots through overtime but lost in the shootout. Cristobal Huet pitched his own shutout for the Montreal Canadiens (14-7-3) to beat Florida 1-0.
 
The Washington Capitals (9-9-6) jumped to a 4-0 lead and went on to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning (13-11-1) 5-2. Alexander Semin and Alexander Ovechkin each scored a goal and added an assists and Olaf Kolzig stopped 48 shots in the win. Vincent Lecavalier scored his 11th goal of the year for the Lightning.
 
Tim Thomas recorded 45 saves and the Boston Bruins (11-9-2) scored three goals in the third period to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs (13-9-4) 4-1. Glen Murray scored the go-ahead goal for the Bruins in the sixth minute of the third period. Brad Boyes added an empty netter for Boston.
 
Vesa Toskala stopped all 29 shots he faced as the San Jose Sharks (18-7-0) blanked the St. Louis Blues (7-13-3) 2-0. Ryane Clowe got the Sharks on the board just over two minutes into the first period and Tom Cavanagh scored in the opening moments of the second period to lift the sharks.
 
Jarome Iginla scored a power play goal with 9 seconds remaining in the first period and the Calgary Flames (11-10-2) went on to score three more goals in the second period en route to their 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche (11-11-2). Kristian Huselius had two assists for the Flames.
 
Ryan Getzlaf scored the game winning goal for Anaheim (18-2-6) two minutes into overtime as the Ducks beat the Edmonton Oilers (13-8-2) 3-2. Edmonton held a 2-0 lead mid-way through the second period before Anaheim got a power play goal from Teemu Selanne and Chris Kunitz tied the score with 17 seconds remaining in the third period.

Markus Naslund scored 9 minutes into the second period for Vancouver (12-12-1) and the Canucks beat the Columbus Blue Jackets (6-15-2) 1-0. Roberto Luongo had 24 saves to record the shutout for the Canucks.
