A day of fun on the water ended in tragedy for a former NASA astronaut, Alan Poindexter, after he was killed in a jet-ski accident over the weekend in Pensacola, Florida.
According to reports, Poindexter, 50, was riding jet-skis with his two sons in Little Sabine Bay just off Pensacola beach. Poindexter was riding on one of the water crafts with his 22 year-old son while his other son was on another. The two jet-skis collided, knocking Poindexter into the water, according to Reuters.
Friends pulled Poindexter onto the shore and attempted to revive him. He was later airlifted to a local hospital, but was later pronounced dead.
Luckily neither of his sons was injured in the accident, which is still under investigation.
Poindexter went into space twice and had a successful career in the U.S. Navy. His family is distraught over his sudden death. Funeral services will be held later this week.
Accidents are so named because they are unintentional. But often traffic, boating or other water craft accidents are caused by the careless behavior of others, though this doesn’t appear to be the case in Poindexter’s accident.
When a person’s life is cut short or adversely affected by another’s actions, an accident attorney will make certain the victims get the compensation they deserve for their pain and suffering.
An accident lawyer is capable of winning a large settlement regardless of whether a person was injured or killed in a boating accident, an auto accident or on the job. No accidental personal injury or death is beyond their expertise.
Anyone who believes they should be compensated by the careless person who cased their injury will benefit from the immediate representation of an accident attorney.
