Just two months after their romantic beach wedding, Jake Owen and wife Lacey Buchanan have announced they are expecting their first child together. Their baby girl is due in November.
Owen, 30, tells People magazine they discovered Buchanan’s pregnancy before their May 7th wedding.
“We actually found out Lacey was pregnant after I had asked her dad for his permission,” says the country singer.
“The way we saw it, the baby news was a bonus on top of the engagement, but we didn’t want anyone to think we were getting married because Lacey was pregnant, and we wanted to celebrate our wedding first,” he says of keeping the news private until now.
“We didn’t want to go public with it until we found out if it was a boy or a girl. The pregnancy was just something we wanted to keep for ourselves for a little while,” adds Buchanan, 22.
In other celebrity baby news, model and actress Josie Maran gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Sunday, July 1. Maran and husband Ali Alborzi have not yet named their new daughter. The baby joins older sister Rumi Joon, 6.
