On this week’s episode of The Bachelorette, Emily Maynard and her four bachelors returned to the United States for hometown dates.
Emily heads to Chicago first to meet Chris and his family. Chris takes her on a short tour of Chicago before they make their way to his family’s home in Hanover Park. Chris’ father and sister give Emily the hardest time about her intentions. Emily assures them she will do her best to not break Chris’ heart.
The next stop is Utah where Jef takes Emily to his family’s ranch. Emily meets his sisters and brother, but not his parents since they are doing charity work in South Carolina. The group grills Emily on whether she is sure she shares the same principles as Jef. She passes the test and Jef’s siblings give their approval.
Emily heads to Scottsdale, Arizona next. Arie treats her to a ride in his race car and a romantic picnic before taking her home to meet his mother, father, sister and twin brothers. Arie’s mother gives her approval after questioning Emily about her failed relationship with former Bachelor Brad Womack. Emily assures her that she is asking more questions this time around so she will be sure about her choice in the end.
The final date goes to Sean in Dallas, Texas. They have a lakeside picnic before going to Sean’s parent’s home. Emily quickly wins over his mom and dad. They say they would be happy to welcome her into the family. Emily nearly rethinks her entire opinion of Sean after he tells her that he lives at home and proceeds to show her his dirty room and stuffed animal collection. It turns out to be an elaborate joke and Emily is relieved.
At the rose ceremony, Emily sends Chris packing. She explains that her relationships with the other guys are deeper.
