Actress Leonor Varela is going to become a mother later this year. A rep for Varela has confirmed the Dallas star is pregnant with her first child with producer Lucas Akoskin.
“It’s Leonor’s first child and the couple are over the moon,” the rep told People magazine.
Varela was not the only celebrity to announce baby news this week – country music singer Jake Owen revealed he is expecting a daughter with new wife Lacey Buchanan. The baby is the first child for the newlyweds.
Owen, 30, told People magazine they discovered Buchanan’s pregnancy before their May 7th wedding. “We actually found out Lacey was pregnant after I had asked her dad for his permission,” said Owen.
“The way we saw it, the baby news was a bonus on top of the engagement, but we didn’t want anyone to think we were getting married because Lacey was pregnant, and we wanted to celebrate our wedding first,” he said of keeping the news private until now.
“We didn’t want to go public with it until we found out if it was a boy or a girl. The pregnancy was just something we wanted to keep for ourselves for a little while,” added Buchanan, 22.
