Canadian police say a severed human head found Sunday at Angrignon Park in Montreal has been identified as that of Jun Lin, the Chinese student whose murder and dismemberment was filmed and posted online. Model and adult film star Luka Rocco Magnotta has been arrested and charged with first degree murder for the gruesome crime.
Lin died in Magnotta’s Montreal apartment in late May. The killing was taped and posted online under the title “1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pic.” The video shows Lin being stabbed repeatedly while tied to a bed. Magnotta then dismembers his body and performs sexual and cannibalistic acts.
Authorities discovered the crime after Magnotta mailed some of Lin’s body parts to the headquarters of political parties in Ottawa. An international manhunt was launched and Magnotta was captured in Germany on June 4. Days later, two Vancouver schools received packages containing parts of Lin’s body.
Magnotta was extradited to Canada and is currently awaiting trial.
