Bullfrog Spas Founder and President Announces Retirement from Day to Day Operations

Dave Ludlow, inventor of JetPak hot tub jetting system and President of Bullfrog          International announces retirement from day to day operation.

Bullfrog International, LC, announced today the retirement of founder and company President, David Ludlow, from day to day operations. Mr. Ludlow will continue to serve on Bullfrog’s Board of Directors.

Dave was instrumental in guiding Bullfrog Spas from concept to pool and spa industry success story. He invented what became known as the JetPak System, a patented and more efficient way to deliver water to jets, in 1989. After years of perfecting the concept and securing capital Bullfrog Spas was founded in 1996. Mr. Ludlow served as CEO of Bullfrog International, LC from its founding until early 2011, when industry veteran, Jerry Pasley, left Jacuzzi Hot Tubs/Sundance Spas to become CEO at Bullfrog.

During Ludlow’s time leading Bullfrog International, the company consistently outpaced the spa and hot tub industry and Bullfrog Spas became a national and international brand known for consistency, quality, and pushing spa technology to new levels. Dave Ludlow was himself awarded the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Ernst & Young for the manufacturing category and was inducted into the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.

Mr. Ludlow sought out and was instrumental in bringing Jerry Pasley to Bullfrog and has taken every care to make the leadership transition smooth. Under Pasley’s leadership Bullfrog has continued to significantly outpace industry trends and today is poised to make a big impact on the spa industry. Dave plans to continue to pursue other business and personal interest full time, including development of a high-end fly fishing lodge and guest ranch.

Mr. Ludlow recently commented on his decision, “It’s been an amazing opportunity and a cloud nine ride for 16 years. There’s really nothing like seeing your own invention turn into something that is appreciated and that benefits so many people. I love this company and this decision is, of course, bittersweet in many ways, but I’m leaving Bullfrog in the capable hands of an incredible team. I’m really an entrepreneur at heart and I’m so excited to take on another challenge.”

Bullfrog CEO, Jerry Pasley had this to say about Mr. Ludlow’s retirement: “I would be remiss in not recognizing the many contributions Dave has made to Bullfrog and the hot tub industry as a whole over the many years. His passion and desire to make a difference kept him at the manufacturing facility more than at home during the original start up years. It is because of those sacrifices he and others made that we enjoy promoting such a great brand today. We want to thank him for laying such a great foundation and introducing the world to JetPak Technology, a true innovation for hot tubs.”
