Pulling down $16-$17 million dollars a picture, Nicole Kidman has been crowned the highest paid actress of 2006. After winning an Oscar for her performance in “The Hours:” in 2003 the Australian beauty has been in high demand. Kidman’s latest flick, the animated children’s story “Happy Feet”, has been at the top of the box-office the past two weeks.
Julia Roberts, who had been the highest paid actress the past four years, didn’t crack the top ten this year. After wining an Oscar for her role in Erin Brockovich, Roberts was being paid up to $20 million per picture. Roberts is currently filming “Charlie Wilson’s War” with Tom Hanks.

Drew Barrymore still grabs $15 million a picture despite never winning an Oscar. Her name alone can bring audiences to the movie and she is paid well for that talent. She just completed filming for “Lucky You.”
The self-proclaimed “commitment-phobe”, Cameron Diaz, has no problems committing to a film. At $15 million Diaz is one of the most sought after faces in film, and her voice earns her the big bucks as well. Her vocal abilities will be heard once more in “Shrek The Third.”
