George Clooney has signed on with Warner Bros. to star in and produce one film while directing another.
“White Jazz”, a Warner Independent Pictures film, will be produced by and star Clooney. It is another in a series of crime novels from James Ellroy that have made it to the big screen. Ellroy has also had “L.A. Confidential” and “The Black Dahlia” morphed into movies.
Clooney will be playing a corrupt police lieutenant in the film.
The second movie will partner Clooney with buddy Jerry Weintraub in the Warner Bros. Pictures film “Belmont Boys.” Weintraub was the producer of the box-office blockbuster “Ocean’s Eleven” which starred Clooney.
Clooney will then direct “Belmont Boys” which just happens to be written by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, both wrote “Ocean’s Thirteen”, once again starring Clooney. “Belmont Boys” is the story about seven thieves who regroup after 30 years to finish a job they left undone.
