Kobe Bryant and Tayshaun Prince lead their teams to wins in NBA action from Thursday night.
The Detroit Pistons (10-5) won their seventh straight game after beating the Miami Heat (6-9) 87-85 in South Florida. Richard Hamilton led the Pistons with 24 points and Tayshaun Prince had 12 points and 8 rebounds. Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 21 points but missed a last second jumper that would have sent the game into overtime. Udonis Haslem scored 20 points and recorded 10 rebounds in the loss
Kobe Bryant scored 52 points, 30 of which came in the third quarter and the Los Angeles Lakers (10-5) beat the Utah Jazz (13-4) 132-102. Bryant was 19-26 from the floor and 12-15 from the free throw line. Lamar Odom added 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Lakers win. Carlos Boozer led the Jazz with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Kobe’s 52 points came in three quarters, the Lakers star didn’t play in the fourth.
