Thom Yorke Announces Radiohead Will No Longer Release Albums

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke said that the band has no plans in recording any more full-length albums, preferring instead to release singles, according to recent news reports.

Yorke said that the band will focus on making EPs, including the possibility of EPs of orchestral music.

Yorke said the creative process for making a complete album is tiresome. “None of us want to go into that creative hoo-ha of a long-play record again,” said Yorke to CNet.com. “Not straight off. I mean, it's just become a real drag.”

“It worked with ‘In Rainbows’ because we had a real fixed idea about where we were going,” continued Yorke. “But we've all said that we can't possibly dive into that again. It'll kill us.”

In 2007, Radiohead released “In Rainbows” first on their website as a digital download four months before the full album hit record stores in December.

Two new songs by Radiohead have been recently heard over the past two weeks. On August 5, the band released the song "Harry Patch (In Memory Of)", in tribute to the recently deceased Harry Patch, the last surviving soldier to have fought in the trenches of World War I.

On Wednesday, a song entitled “These Are My Twisted Words” was leaked to the message board Atease. The common theory on the news board is that “These Are My Twisted Words” is the first song off an upcoming EP called “Wall of Ice”.
