Philadelphia Phillies Shane Victorino Files Police Report Following Beer-Throwing Incident

Philadelphia Phillies Shane Victorino has filed a police report in response to Wednesday night’s episode in which a fan hurled a beer at the center fielder while he was positioning himself to catch a fly ball off the bat of the Chicago Cubs Jake Fox.

Victorino was doused by what appeared to be a full beer but managed to make the catch. While security at Wrigley Field quickly grabbed a fan and hauled him off his innocence was later realized when video tape clearly identified the offender as somebody else.

Victorino filed the report for simple battery with the Chicago Police Department and said on Thursday, “I just think he should be held accountable, that's it, nothing more than that. He should be held accountable, that's it ... but it is what it is. It's not like the first time I've seen it happen.”
