Tom Glavine was rewarded with a one-year deal by the New York Mets after posting a 15-7 record and a 3.82 ERA. The deal is reported to be worth $11 million.
Glavine, a four year fixture in the Mets starting rotation, will return to the club that unseated the Atlanta Braves stranglehold on the National League East last year.
The two-time Cy Young award winner filed for free agency last month but was adamant about remaining a Met or signing with the Braves. Glavine, 41, spent his first 16 years in an Atlanta uniform.
Tom Glavine has a career mark of 290-191 with a 3.46 ERA.
