Astronomy.FM welcomes the return of Sky Safari
Astronomy.FM welcomes the return of Sky Safari, a monthly online radio program that explores beautiful deep-sky objects and fascinating astronomic phenomena, both far and near. On August 9, inspired by the recent solar eclipse in Asia, we discussed the factors that bring about solar and lunar eclipses, and described the experience of a total eclipse. A podcast and slide show have been posted on the Sky Safari home page.
The next Sky Safari, scheduled for September 22, will be devoted to planetary nebulae – gems of the night sky. Listeners are welcome to join us in the Astronomy.FM chat room during the broadcast, to ask questions and share the listening experience with other Astronomy.FM members.
