NBA Scores from Friday, December 1

Gilbert Arenas, Dwight Howard, Steve Nash, and Carmelo Anthony lead their teams to wins in NBA action from Friday night.

Gilbert Arenas scored 33 points and added 10 assists as the Washington Wizards (6-9) beat the Charlotte Bobcats (4-12) 121-109. Caron Buteler finished with 24 points and Antwan Jamison totaled 22 points to pad the scoring for the Wizards. Adam Morrison had 23 points for the Bobcats and Emeka Okafor added 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Chris Bosh had another double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Toronto Raptors (6-10) to a home win over the Boston Celtics (5-10) 106-102. T.J. Ford had 10 points and 13 assists for the Raptors. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 19 points and 9 rebounds in the loss.

Lebron James had 31 points 8 assists and 7 rebounds to pace the Cleveland Cavaliers (10-6) past the Atlanta Hawks (6-8) 106-95. With the game knotted up going into the fourth quarter the Cavaliers defense held the Hawks to just 16 points in the final frame. Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 31 points.
 
Andres Nocioni had 31 points and 13 rebounds for Chicago (6-9) as the Bulls went on the road to beat the NO/Oklahoma City Hornets (8-8) 111-108. Luol Deng added another 21 points to the Bulls attack. Rasual Butler had 33 points for the Hornets and Tyson Chandler grabbed 17 rebounds.
 
Tayshaun Prince scored 31 points and managed 6 rebounds and Rasheed Wallace pulled down another15 rebounds as the Detroit Pistons (11-5) beat the New York Knicks (6-12) 108-100. The Pistons also got 26 points from Richard Hamilton and 22 points from Chauncey Billups. Eddy Curry led the Knicks with 24 points.
 
Carmelo Anthony continued his scoring assault with 35 points and grabbed 8 rebounds while the Denver Nuggets (9-5) pounded the Minnesota Timberwolves (6-9) 106-92. Eduardo Najera had a solid game for the Nuggets with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Kevin Garnett and Ricky Davis each finished with 21 points in the Minnesota loss.
 
The Dallas Mavericks (12-4) led by 19 after the first quarter and went on to win by the same margin, cruising past the Sacramento Kings (8-6) 109-90. For the Mavericks, it was their 12th straight win after starting the season off 0-4. Josh Howard led Dallas with 24 points while Dirk Nowitzki returned to the Mavericks with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ron Artest led the Kings with 15 points.
 
The Phoenix Suns (9-6) got 27 points from Steve Nash and Shawn Marion to grab a home win against the Milwaukee Bucks (5-10) 122-116. Nash added 11 assists to his line while Marion finished with 14 boards. Amare Stoudemire had a solid night for the Suns with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Michael Redd led the Bucks with 37 points and Mo Williams had 31 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

Dwight Howard scored 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds and Grant Hill finished with 16 points and hit a last second shot off of an inbound pass to lift the Orlando Magic (13-4) past the Portlans Trail Blazers (6-11) 91-89. Zach Randolph led the Trail Blazers with 28 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. The win was Orlando’s sixth in a row.

The Seattle Supersonics (7-10) got 18 points from both Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis to beat the visiting Indiana Pacers (9-8)105-103. Luke Ridnour added 17 points including the game winner at the buzzer. Al Harrington led the Pacers with 28 points and 8 rebounds while Jermaine O’Neal finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
