Florida Teen Survives Alligator Attack With Swamp Men Move

A Florida boy credits Swamp Men with helping him survive an alligator attack on Monday. The attack left Fred Langdale with his right arm severed below the elbow, but the 17-year-old has no regrets about how he fought the alligator.

Langdale was swimming with friends in the Caloosahatchee River in Moore Have when the 11-foot alligator suddenly appeared and lunged at him. The teen says he stuck out his arm on purpose so the alligator would not attack his torso. The alligator bit down on his arm and went into a death roll.

“I still couldn't break free because I was still attached to the tendon. Then the gator did another death roll and I kicked my way out of it,” Langdale said, adding that he learned the kicking move on Swamp Men.

"I'm glad the alligator attacked me, because if it was any of my friends, they probably would have died," he said.

Langdale managed to make it out of the water and paramedics were called to the scene. He was taken to a Fort Myers hospital where doctors were unsuccessful in their attempt to reattach his arm, which was found in the stomach of the alligator by the trappers who killed the animal.
