NBA Scores from Saturday, December 2


Vince Carter, Chris Bosh, Tim Duncan, and Kobe Bryant lead their teams to wins in NBA action from Saturday.

Vince Carter scored 41 points and Richard Jefferson added 24 points and 8 rebounds as the New Jersey Nets (7-9) hung on to beat the Philadelphia 76ers (5-10) 112-107. Jason Kidd just missed a triple-double for the Nets finishing with 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 13 assists. Allen Iverson led the 76ers with 37 points and 10 assists.

Chris Bosh had another double-double scoring 26 points and grabbing 13 rebounds and T.J. Ford added 20 points and 10 assists as the Toronto Raptors (7-10) beat the New York Knicks (6-13) 103-100. Eddy Curry led the Knicks with 27 points while pulling down 12 rebounds.

The San Antonio Spurs (12-5) shot 50 percent from beyond the arch and Tim Duncan finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds to beat the Sacramento Kings (8-7) 100-98. Bruce Bowen led all Spurs scorers with 23 points. While the Spurs shot 11-22 from three point land they could only convert 19-31 free throws, a 61 percent clip. Kevin Martin led the Kings with 30 points.

James Posey hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Miami Heat (7-9) over the Memphis Grizzlies (4-12) 98-97. Dwyane Wade had 23 points for the Heat and Jason Williams had 13 points and 14 assists. Udonis Haslem finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds for Miami. Mike Miller led the Grizzlies with 22 points and 8 rebounds.

Luol Deng had 18 points and 9 rebounds and Ben Gordon dropped 28 points to pace the Chicago Bulls (7-9) past the Washington Wizards (6-10) 112-94. The Bulls out rebounded the Wizards 49-36 on the night. Ben Wallace had 9 and Tyrus Thomas finished with 10. Caron Butler led the Wizards with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cleveland Cavaliers (10-7) could only manage 10 points in the second quarter and shot just 28 percent from the field as they got smoked by the Houston Rockets (11-5) 81-63. Yao Ming had 24 points to lead the Rockets in scoring. Juwan Howard 13 rebounds and Chuck Hayes added another 12 as the Rockets had a 14 more rebounds than the Cavs. LeBron James led Cleveland with 21 points.

Carmelo Anthony continued to light it up for Denver (10-5) scoring 38 points to carry the Nuggets past the Indiana Pacers (9-9) 121-101. Marcus Camby was big on the boards with 15 rebounds while adding 10 points to the Denver cause. Jermaine O’Neal had a strong game for the Pacers with 20 points and 16 rebounds while Jeff Foster pulled down 18 boards.

The Utah Jazz (14-4) got back on the winning track with seven players scoring in double figures as they beat the Seattle Supersonics (7-11) 109-107. Carlos Boozer led the Jazz with 24 points and had 8 rebounds while Paul Millsap ended with 16 points and 10 boards. Ray Allen had 33 points in the loss.

The Milwaukee Bucks (6-10) got 28 points from Charlie Bell and Michael Redd added 24 points as they beat the Golden State Warriors (9-8) 115-110. Ruben Patterson finished with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Bucks. Troy Murphy ended his night with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Kobe Bryant had 29 points and Lamar Odom had 18 points and 8 rebounds as the LA Lakers (11-5) beat their in-town rivals LA Clippers (7-8) 97-88. Elton Brand and Cuttino Mobley each had 17 points for the Clippers.
