Manson Family Member Squeaky Fromme Released from Jail

Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, a member of the infamous Manson family of the 1960s, has been released from jail nearly 35 years after she was convicted for attempting to murder then President Gerald Ford.

 

Fromme was released from the Federal Medical Center Carswell in Forth Worth, Texas on Friday morning. Now 60-years-old, Fromme had received a life sentence for pointing a gun at Ford during an event in Sacramento, California.

 

Just 26-years-old at the time of her conviction, Fromme was sentenced under a special federal law that governed over the attempted assaults on presidents.

 

Fromme had been a follower of the cult established by Charles Manson but was not part of the 1969 murders that claimed the lives of Sharon Tate and eight others.
