Award-winning cooking author and Food Network star Marion Cunningham has died. According to family friend John Carroll, Cunningham passed away of respiratory problems Tuesday at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, California. Cunningham also suffered from Alzheimer’s. She was 90.
Cunningham revised the Fannie Farmer Cookbook twice and wrote many popular books on cooking, including Learning to Cook, The Breakfast Cook, Lost Recipes and Cooking with Children. She also wrote numerous magazine articles and penned columns for the San Francisco Chronicle and the Los Angeles Times. She had a show on Food Network called Cunningham & Company.
Cunningham was awarded the Grand Dame award by Les Dames d'Escoffier in 1993 and was named Scholar-in-Residence by the International Association of Culinary Professionals the following year. She is survived by her two children.
