NFL Preseason: Baltimore Ravens Defeat Washington Redskins, 23-0, in Opener

The Baltimore Ravens defeated their neighboring rival Washington Redskins, 23-0, in their opening game of preseason NFL football.

The Ravens were led by their trio of quarterbacks: Joe Flacco, Troy Smith and John Beck. Flacco led the Ravens to field goals in his first two drives, Smith led the team in passing yards, and Beck completed five passes for 105 yards.

Flacco was 9 for 15 for 103 yards and Smith completed 14 of 30 passes for 200 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown pass to Justin Harper.

The Redskins did not share the same quarterback outcome. Jason Campbell went 3 for 6 for 38 yards, and both his drives ended with punts. Backup Todd Collins was 8 for 11 for 70 yards but failed to produce any points, and Colt Brennan threw the game's lone interception.

Next on the schedule for Washington and Baltimore are Pittsburgh on Saturday and NY Jets on Monday.
