‘Twilight’ Fan Killed in Traffic Accident outside Comic Con

A fan of the “Twilight” film series was struck and killed by a car Tuesday while crossing a street in front of the San Diego Convention Center where Comic Con was holding their annual event.

The 56 year-old accident victim had been waiting in line for a Thursday “Twilight” panel when she crossed at the intersection of 5th and Harbor, which is adjacent to the area where the convention was being held.

A police investigation revealed that the unidentified woman was running across Harbor Drive when she almost ran into the path of vehicle traveling westbound. The victim stopped, but tripped and fell into the path of the vehicle which struck her in the head. She later died of the head trauma.

Stars from the “Twilight” movies will be attending the panel, being held today and will honor their fallen fan.

The driver of the vehicle, a 67 year-old man stayed on the scene and fully cooperated with police.
