Merck & Co.,Inc.,MRK-Merck gets shareholders permission to club with Schering-Plough

Aug 12, 2009, The shareholders of Merck & Co., Inc., a pharmaceutical firm, have sanctioned  the company's anticipated merger with Schering-Plough Corporation, a healthcare company. Both the firms are US based.

Under the terms of the deal, Schering-Plough shareholders would get 0.5767 shares and $10.5 in cash for each share of Schering-Plough. Based on the finalised price of Merck stock on March 6, 2009, the consideration to be got by Schering-Plough shareholders is estimed at $23.61 per share.
