The Atlanta Falcons (6-6) fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter but rattled off 24 unanswered points to beat the Washington Redskins (4-8) 24-14. Michael Vick threw for just 122 yards in 16 pass attempts but two of those completed passes were for touchdowns. Vick also added 59 rushing yards. It was Vick’s 22-yard touchdown pass to Michael Jenkins in the third quarter that gave the Falcons the lead 17-14. Jerious Norwood rushed for 107 yards on nine carries, including a 67-yard burst for a touchdown. Ladell Betts rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown in the loss for the Redskins.

Reggie Bush rushed for three touchdowns and caught another to account for all of the New Orleans Saints (8-4) touchdowns in their 34-10 win over the San Francisco 49ers (5-7). Deuce McAllister actually led the Saints with 137 rushing yards while Bush totaled 30 yards on the ground. The rookie did have nine receptions for 131 yards. Drew Breese passed for 186 yards and threw one touchdown. The 49ers turned the ball over three times and could only manage 57 yards on the ground.

In a game that featured 8 turnovers the New England Patriots (9-3) were able to survive an upset bid from the Detroit Lions (2-10) 28-21. The Patriots totaled just 79 yards on the ground but Corey Dillon found the end zone three times on runs of 6, 4, and 2 yards. Tom Brady passed for 305 yards but no touchdowns. Jon Kitna passed for 314 yards and a touchdown but was picked off three times.

The Arizona Cardinals (3-9) allowed the St. Louis Rams (5-7) to beat themselves with turnovers and penalties in their 34-20 victory. The Rams racked up 126 yards in penalties and turned the ball over three times. Edgerrin James rushed for 115 yards for the Cardinals and Marcel Shipp had three rushing touchdowns. Matt Leinart passed for 186 yards and a touchdown while not throwing any interceptions. Marc Bulger passed for 314 yards and two touchdowns but accounted for all three St. Louis turnovers with interceptions.

Rob Bironas kicked a 60-yard field goal with 7 seconds remaining to give the Tennessee Titans (5-7) a shocking 20-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts (10-2). Tennessee fell behind 14-0 but climbed back behind the arm and legs of Vince Young. Young passed for 163 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 78 yards in the win. Peyton Manning did throw for 351 yards and a touchdown but was picked off twice. Marvin Harrison had 172 receiving yards and a touchdown for the Colts.

The New York Jets (7-5) jumped to a 31-0 lead and cruised to a 38-10 win over the Green Bay Packers (4-8) at Lambeau Field. Chad Pennington passed for 263 yards and two touchdowns for the Jets while Cedric Houston ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns. The Jets had 441 yards of total offense and forced three turnovers on the defensive end. Brett Favre passed for 214 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice.

The Chicago Bears (10-2) picked off Brad Johnson four times and recovered a fumble as they went on to beat the Minnesota Vikings (5-7) 23-13. Once again the Bears relied on their defense and special teams to score, as their anemic offense could only manage 107 yards of total offense. Devin Hester returned a punt 45 yards for a Bears touchdown, Ricky Manning Jr. returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown and the Bears defense recorded a safety to account for 16 of the 23 points Chicago put on the board. Rex Grossman had another forgettable game passing for 34 yards and being picked off three times.

Phil Dawson kicked a 33-yard field goal in overtime to give the Cleveland Browns (4-8) a 31-28 win over the Kansas City Chiefs (7-5). With the Browns trailing 28-14 in the fourth quarter backup quarterback Derek Anderson threw two touchdown passes to equal the score and send the game into overtime. Anderson passed for 171 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for an additional 44 yards. Trent Green had a big game for the Chiefs throwing for 297 yards and four touchdowns, and Larry Johnson rushed for 110 yards.

Ladainian Tomlinson rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns and the San Diego Chargers (10-2) defense forced four turnovers to beat the Buffalo Bills (5-7) 24-21. Philip Rivers passed for 160 yards and a touchdown for the Chargers and San Diego’s defense held the Bills to just 63 yards rushing. J.P. Losman passed for 184 yards and a touchdown but he threw two interceptions in the loss.

Ben Roethlisberger passed for 198 yards and two touchdowns ant the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-7) forced four turnovers and recorded five sacks as they bullied the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-8) 20-3. The Steelers held the Bucs scoreless until they were able to kick a field goal with 4 seconds left to avoid the shutout. Bruce Gradkowski had a rough game for Tampa with three interceptions. Willie Parker had 61 yards rushing for the Steelers.

Martin Gramadica kicked the game winning field goal with 6 seconds left on the clock to lift the Dallas Cowboys (8-4) past the New York Giants (6-6) 23-20 at Giants Stadium. Gramadica, picked up by Dallas last week, made three of four field goal attempts in the game. Tony Romo passed for 257 yards for Dallas but was picked off twice. Terrell Owens was able to hold on to 8 receptions for 84 yards in the Dallas win, while Marion Barber III had 76 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Eli Manning threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns in the Giants loss.

The Houston Texans (3-8) scored 16 straight points to overcome a 14-7 deficit and beat the Oakland Raiders (2-9) 23-14. The Texans only had 124 total yards of offense and David Carr passed for just 34 yards but the Raiders committed five turnovers in the game. Ron Dayne led the Texans with 95 yards on the ground.
