BCS Bowl Bids
It’s all set, the final BCS Rankings are in and the Ohio State Buckeyes will be facing the Florida Gators in Glendale, Arizona for the BCS Championship. Florida’s SEC Championship victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks was enough to push them past the Michigan Wolverines in the BCS Rankings.
Michigan suffered a bitter fate as they had to sit for two weeks and watch as the USC Trojans jumped over them in the BCS Rankings and now the Florida Gators. Many thought that Michigan’s three point loss to the Buckeyes would earn them a re-match in the BCS Championship game.
Unfortunately for them BCS Rankings favored the strength of schedule of the Gators rather than Michigan’s head-to-head battle with Ohio State. Michigan will now head to the Rose Bowl to face off against USC. The USC fans had been expecting their team to match up with Ohio State in Glendale but their 13-9 loss to cross town rival UCLA dashed those dreams.
That was supposed to open the door for Michigan to earn their rematch but Florida’s 38-28 victory over SEC West champion Arkansas moved them into the title game.
