Kevin Garnett, Emeka Okafor, Joe Johnson, and Elton Brand lead their teams to wins in NBA action from Sunday, December 3.
Ricky Davis had 22 points, Mike James added another 20 and Kevin Garnett finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds as the Minnesota Timberwolves (7-9) beat the Philadelphia 76ers (5-11) 95-84. Allen Iverson led the 76ers with 26 points and Chris Webber had 11 points and 9 rebounds in the loss.
The Charlotte Bobcats (5-12) had a huge game from their bench to upset the Detroit Pistons (11-6) 97-89. Emeka Okafor led the Bobcats with 18 points but Sean May, Matt Carroll, and Derek Anderson came off the bench to give Charlotte a boost. May finished with 17 points, Carroll with 16, and Anderson 11. Rasheed Wallace led the Pistons with 19 points.
Joe Johnson continues to shoot well, scoring 33 points while Josh Smith added 13 and 12 rebounds to pace the Atlanta Hawks (7-8) past the Portland Trail Blazers (6-12) 107-96. Zach Randolph led Portland with 30 points but the Trail Blazers committed 21 turnovers in the game.
Elton Brand shot 12-14 from the floor to finish with 31 points and Tim Thomas had 20 to lead the LA Clippers (8-8) past the Orlando Magic (13-5) 116-91. Shaun Livingston finished with 7 points and 10 assists for the Clippers. Dwight Howard led the Magic with 16 points and 7 rebounds, well below his season average.
