Suicide Blast Outside NATO Headquarters in Afghanistan Leaves at least 7 Dead

A suicide bomber detonated an explosive-packed car outside the NATO headquarters in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, killing at least seven people and leaving more than 90 injured.

The attack comes just days before Afghanistan is due to hold their presidential and provincial elections, something the Taliban has vowed to interrupt. Saturday’s blast was a reminder that the country continues to struggle with its security as the attack occurred on one of the most guarded street in Kabul.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai responded to the latest attack saying, “The enemies of Afghanistan try to create fear among people in this election period but people still realize the importance of going to ballot boxes to cast their votes.”
