One pilot is dead and several people have been left injured after two Russian jets training for an air show collided on Sunday.
According to reports two pilots managed to parachute to safety but the group’s commander was killed in the accident. The pilots, flying Su-27 jets, were from the elite Russian Knights aerobatic team that had been preparing for Tuesday’s Maks 2009 aerobatic exhibition near Moscow.
At least five people on the ground were injured including a woman who suffered severe burns after one of the jest struck a house.
