Tropical Storm Claudette Forms Off Northern Gulf Coast of Florida, Expected to Bring Heavy Rain

The National Hurricane Center in Miami has stated the northern Gulf Coast of Florida should be prepared for heavy rain and strong winds by Sunday evening as Tropical Storm Claudette continues to gain strength.

 

By midday on Sunday Tropical Storm Claudette had sustained winds of just over 40 mph and when it makes land by evening it could dump between 3 to 5 inches of rain with some areas expected to get as much as 10 inches.

 

A tropical storm warning was issued earlier on Sunday for areas east of the Alabama state line, extending to the Suwanee River.
