Another "Catching Fire" character has been cast! A week after Lionsgate announced Phillip Seymour Hoffman will play head gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee in the Hunger Games sequel, it has been confirmed Amanda Plummer, 55, will play District 3 Quarter Quell tribute Wiress. Wiress is the tribute who earns the nickname “Nuts” because of her seemingly crazy obsession with repeating “Tick tock, tick tock.”
Plummer, the daughter of Oscar winning actor Christopher Plummer, is perhaps best known for playing Honey Bunny in “Pulp Fiction.” Her other film credits include “So I Married an Axe Murderer,” “The Fisher King” and “Needful Things.”
Catching Fire is set to be released on November 22, 2013. Jennifer Lawrence will return to play Katniss Everdeen while Josh Hutcherson will reprise his role as Peeta Mellark and Liam Hemsworth will reprise his role as Gale Hawthorne. Francis Lawrence will replace Gary Ross as director.
