Kerry Kennedy Pleads Not Guilty to DUI Accident

Robert F. Kennedy’s daughter Kerry will plead not guilty to DUI following an accident last Friday on Westchester Highway.

The truck driver, Rocco Scuitello, who was hit by Kennedy, said that she was nodding off prior to the accident. He told the New York Post, “She scared the heck out of a lot of people. She was completely out of it.”

He continued, “She started coming at me like she didn’t see me. She was starting to nod off.  Her head was bobbing toward the steering wheel.”

“I hit the horn. I couldn’t go back into the breakdown lane because there was a disabled truck up ahead. I could either hit that truck or let her do what she was going to do.”

It ends up that she slammed into the truck and continued to drive on. When police caught up with her at a highway exit she was passed out behind the wheel.

She was given field sobriety tests which she failed and was placed under arrest. After Kennedy was taken to a police station she agreed to take urine and blood tests.

Her family believes she had a seizure but Kerry said she thinks she mixed up one of her medications for Ambien a powerful sleeping pill.

Luckily both Kennedy and other drivers were not injured. Many traffic accidents, especially on highways were people are traveling at high speeds can end in tragedy with some people losing their lives or incurring very serious injuries.

Accident attorneys make certain that personal injury victims get the money they need to not only cover their medical expenses but also their daily expenses while they recover. Even when an accident doesn’t involve injuries, an accident lawyer will make certain the negligent driver is liable for any property damage they cause.

Any person involved in a collision should get in touch with an accident attorney immediately to start building a strong case which will maximize their final settlement.
