NFL players must have too much time on their hands since several have been arrested for DUI in the past two months. This time it’s Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks who was arrested outside of Oakland for DUI early Saturday.
California Highway Patrol arrested Lynch Saturday on suspicion of DUI with a blood alcohol level more than the legal limit of .08. Authorities did not state what his level of intoxication was.
He was taken into custody but was shortly released. He hasn’t been charged pending the results from the blood alcohol test.
The Seahawks’ released a statement, saying the team, “is aware of the situation of Marshawn and still gathering information.”
The NFL has moral clauses attached to their player’s contracts which give them the authority to terminate or punish players who commit a crime or engage in unseemly behavior. Maybe the NFL should have a DUI attorney school their players on the consequences of an intoxicated driving arrest since so many players can’t seem to stay out of trouble.
DUIs carry serious consequences on a person’s immediate future and in the long run. Offenders have better chance of keeping a DUI conviction from marring their permanent record by employing a Well-versed DUI attorney to build their defense.
There are ways to avoid a DUI conviction such as pleading to a lesser charge or agreeing to participate in an alcohol or drug treatment program. If you have been arrested for intoxicated driving you can protect your interests and future when you hire a DUI attorney.
