Zach Randolph, Dirk Nowitzki, Tracy McGrady, and Steve Nash lead their teams to wins in NBA action from Tuesday.
Zach Randolph scored 31 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and LaMarcus Aldridge added 11 points and 11 rebounds as the Portland Trail Blazers (7-12) went on the road and beat the Detroit Pistons (11-7) 88-85. Portland managed to pull down 14 offensive rebounds and totaled 11 more rebounds than the Pistons. Richard Hamilton led the Pistons with 25 points.
The Dallas Mavericks (13-5) rebounded from last night’s loss to beat the New Jersey Nets (7-10) 92-75. After having their 12-game winning streak snapped y Washington last night the Mavericks answered with a convincing road win against the Nets. Dirk Nowitzki scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Josh Howard finished with 23 points to lead Dallas. Jason Kidd played a complete game with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists for the Nets.
Tracy McGrady scored 31 points, Yao Ming added 27 points, and Chuck Hayes grabbed 15 rebounds as the Houston Rockets (12-5) blew out the visiting Golden State Warriors (9-10) 118-90. It was the second blowout in two nights for the Warriors, they lost by 40 last night in San Antonio. The Rockets dominated the boards with 17 more rebounds than Golden State. Monta Ellis scored 19 points in a losing effort for the Warriors.
The Phoenix Suns (10-6) scored 41 points in the first quarter and went on the rout the visiting Sacramento Kings (8-9) 127-102. The Suns had six players score in double figures, led by Leandro Barbosa who scored 26 points. Steve Nash finished with 11 points and dished out 20 assists while Amare Stoudemire scored 17 and pulled down 13 boards. Mike Bibby led the Kings with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists.
Rashard Lewis had 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks while Chris Wilcox finished with 18 points and the Seattle Supersonics (8-11) cruised to an easy home win over the Atlanta Hawks (7-9) 102-87. Seattle out-rebounded the Hawks 44-28 and blocked 9 shots on the night. Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 34 points on 14-29 shooting.
Elton Brand scored 33 points and grabbed 17 rebounds as the LA Clippers (9-8) beat the Miami Heat (7-10) 101-97. Cuttino Mobley finished with 21 points for the Clippers while Shaun Livingston had 11 points and 7 assists. Dwyane Wade had 33 points for the Heat and Udonis Haslem had 12 rebounds while Alonzo Mourning pulled down 11 of his own.
