Bassist for 3 Doors Down Busted for DUI Following Accident

Todd Harrell, the bassist for rock band 3 Doors Down was arrested last night for drunk driving after causing a traffic collision in southern Mississippi.

D’Iberville Police Chief Wayne Payne said the Harrell ran a stop sign at the intersection of Leymone Blvd. and Gorenflo Rd, when he collided with a pickup truck. Both of the vehicles were heavily damaged. The truck driver 44 year-old Darryl Thibodeaux was taken to a local hospital for back and neck pain, but was released after examination.

Harrell was charged with DUI-other and not wearing his seat belt.

DUI-other charges are issued when police believe a driver is under the influence of a narcotic. Harrell agreed to a blood test but toxicology results are pending.

When people get behind the wheel while they are drunk or high on drugs they don’t take into the consideration the lives they risk or the possible legal ramifications of their actions. This is error in judgment can lead to jail or a loss of their driver’s license, which can only be prevented with the help of a DUI attorney.

Beating a DUI is possible as long as the accused hires a DUI lawyer immediately to begin gathering evidence and building an effective defense strategy, which is key in preventing a conviction. When you hire a DUI attorney they will be by your side during the entire process and will work to prevent you from getting unduly harsh penalties.
